Lorraine decided to produce and publish this website where she works on a voluntary basis to bring awareness in the UK and Worldwide we are living a nightmare, this is happening right now, people are suffering complications from having polypropylene synthetic mesh implanted into their bodies. There are also other ladies working voluntary to give support, advice and helping to get the word out on the true facts associated with the TVT Sling and surgeries using surgical (Prolene) polypropylene synthetic mesh. We trusted the medical professional's and went ahead with surgery without doing our research first, something most of us do, however, due to our experience we were not told the full facts on complications that can arise from this type of surgery. Our advise now to anyone wanting this mesh inside you, ie TransVaginal Tension Free Tape (TVT) sling surgery, please do your research on it first.

These medical devices have not been tested before they come onto the market and they are causing significant harm to the patients. The medical world are not telling the patient the true facts on risks and complications that are associated with the polypropylene synthetic mesh also known as prolene used in the TVT (transVaginal tension free tape) medical device. We are doing intense research every day and discovered we are used as guinea pigs in their clinical trials both for implanting the device and for mesh erosion extraction.

There are many questions we want to ask our Doctor's, Urologist's and Gynecologist's plus we need their full support and understanding that none of this and I quote what they say to us "it is all in your head", plus none of this saying to us "it is extremely rare", MESH EROSION IS NOT A RARE COMPLICATION it is known and fact it will erode from day 1 up to seven years later. We say this to the medical expert's... "you put this stuff in us, you will have to deal with it". We are going to tell everyone this mesh you have put in us has completely ruined our live's long term, our marriages along with possible life-long health issues, the medical world cannot tell us what the long term damage is! it is disgraceful.

At this present time we do our own extensive research on this area as I was told from a Medical Professional and on good authority "the medical profession is actually very alert to surgical complications and sadly, investment in research into the area is not regarded as a priority by medical research funding bodies, which seriously hampers our ability to get a true handle on the situation".
