Breakthrough News
5th November 2011
In the UK and in the USA this is a recognized 'Hidden Disability' - Confirmed Medical Condition UK: 'Chronic TVT/Mesh Implant Inflammation' and in the USA: 'PFS Syndrome'. I asked Mr Drake on the 3rd of November 2011 for his opinion about our 'hidden disability' we can't keep saying we are 'mesh sufferers' as this is not really recognized. I have authorization from Professor Marcus Drake we can use this medical condition term in the UK 'Chronic TVT/Mesh Implant Inflammation'. Since my research began in 2008 and through the campaign work on the website since May 2009 our medical condition 'Chronic TVT/Mesh Implant Inflammation' although most of us are known as ('Mesh Sufferers') our plight would never or it would of taken a very long time to get people to notice we do need a support service in the UK.

About the Support Group
TVT Mum website is purely to give help and support to both men and woman who have had the medical device Transvaginal Tension Free Tape (TVT) Sling, synthetic polypropylene mesh for hernia's, prolapse, stress incontinence and bladder and bowel disorders. If you are seeking answers or maybe you want to share your experiences please register with TVT Mum >>>. We are here to give you comfort and to let you know you are not alone, we can help each other through this very difficult time coping with our daily life from being harmed by these medical devices. We are not here to give medical advice in any way although we can put you in contact with professional experts who can help you.
Why we are here
At this present time we do our own extensive research on TVT's and other Mesh related products as I was told from a Medical Professional and on good authority "the medical profession is actually very alert to surgical complications and sadly, investment in research into the area is not regarded as a priority by medical research funding bodies, which seriously hampers our ability to get a true handle on the situation".
