Warning Notice: Concerning Activities from the MHRA and the Manufacturers
To those who have submitted their adverse report into the Medicines and Healthcare Regulatory Agency (MHRA) Do not give permission or allow the manufacturers to contact your surgeon to allow them access to your medical records!
The main purpose of adverse reporting is to show the MHRA how many people are harmed and to collate data on all the TVTs/Meshes medical devices also to show the MHRA there is a real serious growing health problem in the UK. It is the MHRA who should be asking the manufacturers WHY is this happening and to give answers on their faulty medical devices, specifications, RCTs etc etc directly to them only and not to allow the manufacturers to approach ill people who are in a vulnerable state of health plus for putting the surgeons in a very awkward sitution after receiving permission to disclose private and confidential medical information between patient and surgeon, this is breaking patient confidentiality and also putting vulnerable people under pressure. Regarding the Daily Mail article Published on 15th August 2011. Title: It was a simple implant to cure an embarrassing problem... The incontinence operation that's ruining women's lives is nothing to do with our charity and support group. Why? >>> The article was published by a woman who has mesh problems. Concerning the other information in the article as far as I know it was made up. We agree with those who feel the same as us there is a lot wrong with this article. Please do not listen to people out there who are saying it was us (TVT Mum) who published it, unfortunately we will always come across people who don't like our work and will try to cause damage to our good cause and reputation. The only good thing this article achieved was to bring more people to our support group and to know they are not alone. Breakthrough News
In the UK and in the USA this is a recognized 'Hidden Disability' - Confirmed Medical Condition UK: 'Chronic TVT/Mesh Implant Inflammation' and in the USA: 'PFS Syndrome'. I asked Mr Drake on the 3rd of November 2011 for his opinion about our 'hidden disability' we can't keep saying we are 'mesh sufferers' as this is not really recognized. I have authorization from Professor Marcus Drake we can use this medical condition term in the UK 'Chronic TVT/Mesh Implant Inflammation'. Letter: TVT Mum and the work achieved since July 2008
I started my research on TVT medical devices back in July 2008 this is when I discovered I had mesh erosion from the TVT and I was absolutely devastated to find out I had been lied to for years concerning my health as they all knew from the start of my surgery back in October 2005 it was the TVT causing me so much bad health all along. It has been extremely difficult for me to keep the work and the support group going whilst I am in ill health myself with TVT mesh problems plus I have other serious health issues since having this TVT implant, the NHS has left me permanently disabled.

Article: TVT 'Complexity'
Here I present a small insight as to why they (the medical world) call us 'complex' cases. Over the years I have heard from people who are experiencing problems when they visit A&E unfortunately they don't have a clue as to what is going on and sometimes they don't even know what TVT means. As you can imagine it is very upsetting especially when we are in such pain, flooding with blood and have constant infections, more often than not they tell us we are 'complex'. When I first heard this word I thought what the heck is going on, why don't they recognise these TVT medical devices?

There is a difference between qualified and experienced qualified surgeons. Over the years it has been extremely difficult to find surgeons who are experts in synthetic surgical polypropylene mesh (PPM), TransVaginal Tension Free Tape (TVT )and mesh related complications. We are trying to bring awareness on 'mesh surgery' to ensure people worldwide are not maimed for life. The word 'Mesh' is an abbreviation for Surgical Synthetic Polypropylene (also known as Prolene) Mesh (also known as Tape) you will also find it referred to as PP or PPM. Mesh is within the make-up of the medical device such as: TVT (TVM) (Gold Standard), TVT-Secur, TVT-O and TOT plus mesh is used in other surgeries such as Hernias, once you start researching on surgical mesh you will find it is used in other surgeries too!

I feel sure most of the consultants and surgeons around the UK are trying their utmost to help all the people who have been harmed and experiencing complications from the polypropylene synthetic mesh used in medical devices. From what I understand it has hit them also dealing with it and I feel sure they can see also it is a growing serious health problem especially with the mesh erosion in as much as it has hit us who have been harmed from the mesh, although I have to add it has really caused life changing devastating health problems to all who are currently suffering.
