People who Jump the Gun - Take Heed!

I have had no choice but to explain the appearance of the Daily Mail Article Published on 15th August 2011. Title: It was a simple implant to cure an embarrassing problem... The incontinence operation that's ruining women's lives.

Ok, here we go, there is confusion as to why I put out a public notice onto the website as follows:

Public Notice: Regarding the Daily Mail article Published on 15th August 2011. Title: It was a simple implant to cure an embarrassing problem... The incontinence operation that's ruining women's lives is nothing to do with our charity and support group. The article was published by a woman who has mesh problems. Concerning the other information in the article as far as I know it was made up. We agree with those who feel the same as us there is a lot wrong with this article. Please do not listen to people out there who are saying it was us (TVT Mum) who published it, unfortunately we will always come across people who don't like our work and will try to cause damage to our good cause and reputation. The only good thing this article achieved was to bring more people to our support group and to know they are not alone.

I felt the need to share what has happened and hopefully to open the eyes of people on the truth about this article. I just wish people would of come straight to me rather than believing others, human nature I guess.

In a nutshell

Lois Rogers the Journalist who did the article first approached me via email and then by telephone asking if I would like to give my story.

When I received the email from Lois Rogers I contacted our Legal team (this was when Hayley and myself were in negotiations and going out of our way to get everyone a reliable and leading London solicitor) anyway when I got the email I contacted our legal advisors about this press enquiry from Lois Rogers and they said, all press enquiries are to go to the solicitor at this time. I sent a copy of the email to our solicitors and I didn't contact Lois Rogers.

Lois Rogers rang me and asked me many questions, I said, I'm sorry I can't give you any information at this time as there are things going on behind the scenes, all I could say to her was 'No Comment' to all of her questions and I said to her, come back in a couple of months where we will be in a better position to answer questions. Lois Rogers ended the conversation saying - Ok, well you might loose out etc. I can't remember the exact wording and ended the conversation.

Then the next thing I knew I get an email from Christine Doppelt the lady featured in the article to say she has done an article in the Daily Mail and it is published today and to contact everyone. Christine was in our support group and I knew nothing about the article beforehand not until the day she contacted me and said it is published.

I could not believe my eyes, I read the article and I was mentioned in it! I did not say any of those words, I would have definately added valuable useful information and plus I would have added a lot more priority issues ie: few surgeons to treat us, not much help from the NHS etc etc. Christine should of approved the article first and contacted everyone who is mentioned in it before it got published. I do agree everyone should get their story out into the press the more the better but don't have it published unless you have permission from the people involved first.

Anyway I expressed my concerns to our legal advisors about the Daily Mail article and was instructed by the Barrister QC - DO NOTHING! and this is exactly what I did, I did nothing, no communications with Christine Doppelt or Lois Rogers whatsoever.

Then because I could not make any contact with Christine Doppelt I received a horrible email from her, she also sent a copy of this horrible email to other people who I know. I won't publish what is in the email as I am not that sort of person but the words were aimed at me and our support group.

why oh why can't people see we should stand together, we are all suffering ill health. The person they (the women she cc'd the email to, except one) should of directed their outrageous behaviour at Lois Rogers! this is the person who has caused all the disruption! no surprise there is it?

That's all I am going to say concerning this situation, I could say alot more but I think this is enough for people to read how this situation has caused me grief and upset and through no fault of my own. So, for the last time I had nothing to do with the Daily Mail article and there is plenty wrong with it.

I am a caring person and all I have ever done is provide help to others for years plus I have given a very extensive and informative website to help everyone. I just hope people will open their eyes and see my side of things instead of listening to other peoples malicious gossip and playing petty mind games trying to turn people against me for no reason whatsoever.

To the good people out there please understand I have to face a full mesh removal surgery soon and this is more than enough for me to cope with at this present time.

Show you really care, empathize and don't allow anyone to change you!

I hope this is a better insight concerning the Daily Mail article and recent upsets. I have moved on but I felt this is the time to put people in the picture regarding this situation and to have closure.

A word of caution: If you hear nasty gossip beware, usually the person they talk about could well be perfectly innocent.
